Copyright & DMCA Policy
Last updated July 30, 2026
This is a plain-language starting template, not legal advice — have counsel review it before you rely on it.
Headliner (“we”, “us”), operated by Up North Creative, respects the intellectual-property rights of others and expects the artists who use the platform to do the same. This policy explains how to report content you believe infringes your copyright, and how we respond. It follows the notice-and-takedown process of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
Content on Headliner
Artists build and control their own sites. The music links, images, artwork, text, and other material on a site are provided by that artist, not by us. Some content is also pulled from connected services (such as Spotify, YouTube, and Bandsintown) and is governed by those services’ own terms. When a valid infringement notice concerns a specific artist’s site, we act on that site.
Reporting infringement (takedown notice)
If you own a copyright (or are authorised to act for the owner) and believe material on Headliner infringes it, send a written notice to our designated agent at hello@headliner.band with the subject line “DMCA Notice.” To be effective, your notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature (your typed full legal name is fine).
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim was infringed.
- The specific URL(s) on Headliner where the material appears, in enough detail for us to locate it.
- Your name, address, phone number, and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
Please send accurate notices only. Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages.
What we do
When we receive a valid notice, we will remove or disable access to the material within a reasonable time and make a good-faith effort to notify the artist whose site it appeared on, forwarding a copy of the notice.
Counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to hello@headliner.band including:
- Your signature (typed full legal name).
- Identification of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if outside the U.S., the district where we may be found) and will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the original complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action to keep it down.
Repeat infringers
We will, in appropriate circumstances, suspend or terminate the accounts of artists who are repeat infringers.
